Review

It’s my first purchase from Imam Carpets and I’m happy that I found a very reputable and genuine place to shop online without a fear of being cheated in terms of quality.

The Story Behind Shaggy

There is no pattern here, only depth. Grey and ivory strands are knotted by hand, side by side, and left long, so the pile tumbles like an unshorn fleece. The two tones read as soft grey from across the room and as separate curls up close.

How it was made

Construction: Hand Knotted
Every knot tied by hand on a loom, then cut to make the pile.
Knot: Ghiordes knot
The symmetrical knot, also called the Turkish knot. The yarn wraps two warp threads, which gives a firm pile.
Density: 101–140 knots per square inch
Knots in every square inch. The higher the count, the finer the detail and the longer the rug takes to knot.
Pile: Shaggy
Material: Wool
