Balochistan, the birthplace of the Baluch rug, borders Kerman to the south-east. Baluch rugs can be made with cotton or wool underpinnings, and goat hair is frequently used in the mesh. Although other designs are produced, repeat medallions are popular in Baluchi rugs.

This is yet another stunning tribal piece with dark red, brown and blue backgrounds contrasted with multicoloured geometric patterns. It is soft and flexible, yet extremely resilient, with a distinct sense of age and history.
